Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Microbox: about 100 yards

Status of Microbox: ***** RETIRED *****

The "Road Runner" microbox is located at the Texas Forestry Museum in Lufkin, Texas. See Silver Eagle's "Lufkin Lookout" for more details on the site.

Directions:
From Houston, take Hwy 59 north to Lufkin. Go East on Loop 287 to Hwy 103/Atkinson Dr exit. Turn left on Atkinson Dr and go about .5 miles to the Texas Forestry Museum on the right.

To the Microbox:
Walk behind the museum to the Urban Wildscape Trail. At the first fork in the paved trail, go right (North). Soon the paved path turns west, but you should go straight on the dirt path. Continue north west on this path as is bends around to the wooden classroom. Walk to the back of the class (south) to the 3 foot stump on the right side. From the stump, go 7 paces at 120 degrees to a large pine tree. The microbox is at the south side base of this tree, covered with pine needles and a large stick.
