This is a VERY EASY box to find.
Start your search at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 169 in Brooklyn, Ct. Go North on Route 169 for approximately 1.3 miles. On the right you will see a paved area (driveway entrance) flanked by 2 cemented stone walls with small pillars. The letters “SQ” are chiseled into the stone face. Although the property belongs to the power company, you see cars parked here very often, as people pull over to use their cell phones, turn around, or even take a short break or eat their lunch.

This may not be the BEST place to hide a letterbox, and we may end up moving it again, but we had to move it from it’s original location because after we planted it we discovered that the hill where it was buried, became covered with poison ivy in the warm weather.

To find this letterbox, turn your back to the road and walk a short distance up the hill on the paved driveway. Count the large boulders on your right. What you are searching for is hidden between the 16th and 17th large boulder. Since you are very much in the open here, please be discreet as you go about stamping and recording your find. When finished, please return the box to the opening and replace the stone in front of it.

If you have any trouble finding this box or if it is missing please let us know.

While you are in the area, you might want to move your car across the street to the “C. Vaughan Ferguson, Jr. Conservancy.” And search for # 4 in our “Life is a 3 Ring Circus” Series. It is a short, easy walk .

We hope you enjoyed looking for “Flowers Galore” and that you will eventually try to find the whole series. Box 1 and 2 are planted in Ashford along Route 44 on the Natchaug Trail. Box 4 is in Pomfret off Route 101 on a section of the Airline Trail. We plan on this being a series of 8 boxes.
Thanks for looking. Please let us know if you find the boxes and if they are in good condition.
