The letterbox is located at Norway Ridge Pathway, Alpena County, MI. From U.S. 23, turn onto Werth Road. (Werth Road branches off 23 at the traffic light by Kmart at the south end of Alpena. If you are traveling to Alpena from the south, it will be the first light you'll encounter in town.)Travel on Werth Road about three miles, watch for the sign and make a right turn into the parking lot. Near the far end of the parking lot is a hill with a sign where you'll find a map of the trails.
On that map locate marker #6 proceed down the path until you reach marker #6 there are many different ways to get there as the trail is in concentric circles once you reach the marker #6 turn to the left and count 10 paces. On the right side of the trail there will be a very large standing dead tree next to a pine tree behind that tree there is a slit in the back near the bottom under many pieces of bark you will find the box inside the slit.
This box is the first box me and my 18 month old daughter has hid the title to this box is all grown up because my little girl is all grown up and walking and talking and to celebrate the first year of her little life we decided to do a letter box enjoy everyone i hope it isn't too hard to find, you can continue on this Norway ridge path to find the lady slipper box.
