Old school restaurant series
Philippe's
Downtown Los Angeles
Open until 10pm
Near Old Olvera Street

This restaurant has been open since 1908.
It's famous for its french dip sandwiches,
and was featured on California's Gold with Huell Howser.

If you are from out of town, this is a good place to eat at low prices in a historic setting.
Also Olvera Street is just south of here, which has the oldest house and two of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles.
Casa La Golondrina (since 1924)
Cielito Lindo (since 1934)
