Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockleshells
And pretty maids all in a row.

These boxes are located starting in Eklund Garden on Oak Valley Road in Shelton. Markers are included in each box, but logbook is only in last box. Please respect all the native species in the garden. And, if you haven’t already found it, bring the clues for Trailhead Tessie’s EKLUND GARDEN box.

Enter through garden gate. As you pass the “welcome” sign, you will see steps on your left. Walk up the steps and follow path until you see a squarish stone on your left. At this point you will see two trees near the deer fence. BOX 1 is at the base of the tree nearest the fence. Please re-hide fully so it will not be exposed. Follow the path down another set of steps and to your left. This will lead you to the back garden gate. After passing through gate, you are on the blue blazed trail. Follow it until you come to a sign that reads “Bypass Trail”. Take this trail the way the arrow points, to your left. Almost immediately you will come upon a moss covered stone in the trail. At this point, look to your right to see stones in the woods off the trail. BOX 2 is under one of the stones. Continue along the Bypass Trail, going downhill. It will meet up with the blue blazed trail. When it does, take a left onto the blue blazed trail and follow it over a wooden footbridge. Stop and look to your left. Look for a small 3-sister tree. Just beyond that 3-sister is a small jumble of rocks. Look for a rock that has a slight overhang. BOX 3 is there under some stones.
Please use caution when walking and searching amongst the rocks. While on the blue trail, I met up with a large black snake that would frighten Mary right out of her garden!
