The box is near Tanque Verde Falls in the Coronado National (Palo Verde Tree!) Forest a little northeast of Tucson. Take Grant or Wilmot Roads to Tanque Verde Road. Take Tanque Verde Road east to the end of the pavement. From the start of the dirt road go another 0.8 miles to the trailhead parking.
Walk across the road to the trailhead and down the trail. You will pass the yellow warning signs. Continue on the trail. You will then make a very sharp right turn (hairpin). You will then cross over a short corrugated metal culvert pipe exposed in the middle of the trail. You will then arrive at a very sharp left turn (hairpin) with two Saguaro Cactus on the outer (right) part of the curve; the southerly one has no arms and the northerly one has two small arms. There is a small cluster of Prickly Pear Cactus on the left, inside of the turn. From the center of the sharp turn go off trail at about 290-300 degrees (from mag. north) for about 27 steps to a moderate size Mesquite Tree with a Barrel Cactus under its south side. Continue straight ahead for about another 25 steps to a moderate size Palo Verde Tree just beyond a small rock ledge and with a dead Saguaro skeleton leaning against the tree. To get to the box you will need to continue straight a few more yards and then go clockwise up the slope and around to the back side of the Palo Verde. The box is under the north side of the tree under a flat rock covered with some brush. Be alert for snakes.
Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under the rock and covered with some plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction. Please do not make a pile of rocks over the box.
Enjoy the view of Tanque Verde Wash. If you have time continue on the main trail to Tanque Verde Canyon, and then cross the canyon to a trail that will go up canyon to a view of the falls.
