This is a short (less than 2 km return), kid-friendly urban hike in the Twelve Mile Coulee Natural Environment Park in the Calgary neighbourhood of Tuscany.

Directions:

Park near the intersection of Tuscany Blvd. and Tuscany Hills Rd. NW. There is a bike bath at this intersection that takes you into the Twelve Mile Coulee Natural Environment Park (there is a sign on the left of the path as you walk toward the park). Keep going straight on the bike path. You’ll pass a little pavilion on your left with 2 benches and a large flat rock. There will be houses on the right of the path. As you continue along the path, you’ll get a view of Canada Olympic Park ahead in the distance. At one point, the path will have a metal railing on the left. Immediately after this railing ends (and well before the next one begins), there is a natural trail to the left. Take this trail down into the ravine. Continue down the trail until you come to a picnic table straight ahead of you. Turn left at the fork in the path and keep going down into the ravine. Go across the creek and then go left on the trail. After a short distance you will pass a wooden wall on your right. Keep going straight on the trail until you come to a second wooden wall on your right and a wooden railing on your left forming a bit of a bridge by the nearby creek.

Letterbox Clues:

Look behind the wooden wall. Roughly in the middle you will see a suspicious pile of rocks (SPOR). The letterbox is hidden beneath it.

Note that this area is visible from the pathways above so watch out for muggles on high!

Please be sure to return the box to its original location and to check that it is hidden from view. Thanks and happy letterboxing!
