Here is a link to the Fred Dill Sanctuary http://www.nynjctbotany.org/lgtofc/freddill.html
Park in very small lot near Fred Dill Sanctuary sign. There are maps available there. Follow the leaf marker signs (easy to find). You will bear left at Y in trail. Continue on trail. You will go across a small stream/streambed (depending on time of year) over second streambed and past tree on right marked with ASH sign. Continue on to marker #4 (there are markers along the way with points of interest) which is the WOLF TREE. You will go straight here and follow the yellow trail now. At trail intersection follow the Turtle Trail which is very well marked with a sign and then turtle blazes. Continue on this trail. (note: do not go into or across field). You will come to a tree marked BLACK OAK and there will be a pond to your left. Continue a short distance to intersection of Turtle and Duck Trails. Standing here, look up to your right and see a BEECH TREE. Now, "under the BEECH TREE sign put your back to the tree, turn to your left and a split rock you'll see".
The letter box is hidden there in the rock.
There is a stamp and ink pad in the box as well as an accordian notebook to put your stamp on. Please be sure to replace ink pad top down in box.(so ink doesn't dry out!).
