BOX WILL BE RELOCATED SPRING/SUMMER 2015--WILL POST WHEN REPLANTED WITH NEW CLUES--
We are reminded of the legend of Paul Bunyan every time we pass through Oscoda, Michigan and see the large statue of him. We have heard many different renditions of the old folk tale and enjoy them all. We especially like to believe that Oscoda was his hometown. The only thing missing at the statue in Oscoda is his side kick "Babe" the Blue OX. Paul is obviously missing Babe, so please help him seek his OX out. Start by locating Ken Ratliff Memorial Park located near the old Air Force Base on Van Etten Lake. Enter into the park and seek out the two track road that leads you near a wooded area. Stay on the two track until the end making sure not to circle around. Look for 4 large stumps to make sure you are in the correct location. From your car, travel at 280 degrees to the 2 split trunk oak trees. From the first tree, travel to the second split truck oak. Travel north 12 steps from that 2nd split trunk and then look around to seek out the TRIPLE trunk birch tree. Hiding on the back side of the birch tree is Babe the Blue Ox. Stamp your log book with our Babe stamp using the provided blue stamp pad. Please email us if you find anything wrong with our "Babe the Blue OX" letterbox or to just give us an update, we would love to hear about his status since we only summer in Oscoda. ALSO, please visit our Paul Bunyan letterbox in Oscoda too! Thanks! 2 Small Gardner's
