This letterbox is part of the 2013 Roads to Freedom program, and is available from June 1, 2013 – September 2, 2013. To participate in the full program, please pick up your free Civil War Journal (program guide) from any Adams County Library or at the Historic Train Station in downtown Gettysburg.

This letterbox is located at the Historic Tate Farm in the Village of Hunterstown. It is 0.17 miles in distance and is rated "easy" by Roads to Freedom standards.

NOTE: This character is located on private property, with permission from the owners. Please be respectful of the property and follow the clues below accordingly.

- Locate the flagpole to your right and walk toward it, staying parallel with the road.
- After passing the third small tree on your right, turn left and walk toward the white fence.
- Continue along the white fence until reaching the brown gate. How many vertical slats are in the brown gate? ____
- You are standing behind the Historic Tate Farm, a location visited by General George Custer during the Battle of Hunterstown. Please do not walk further into the backyard of this location!
- Now turn around and walk between the two multi-trunked trees – one in the field and the other along the creek.
- Continue to follow the creek until you reach the point where it curves. You should notice a fallen limb held up by some vines.
- The post you seek should be ____ steps (number of vertical slates in the fence gate) to the left of this limb.
- Return to your vehicle by walking through the field.
