For this letter boxing adventure, you will need a compass and a willingness to hike up a long hill.
Begin across from the Brown Road and Highway 41 intersection. You are in the right place if you see a sign for Presbytery Point along brown road. Stand on the side of the guard rail facing the woods. So you see the trail running parallel to the highway?
Now pull out your compass. Follow the trail in the south-east direction.
Do you see the sign about 20 feet ahead pointing towards the Maple Ridge Resort. Look at the arrow. I want you to go the other way onto the narrow trail into the dense forest. Don't worry. I won't get you lost.
Head through the trees. The open field is up ahead. Look up. If you see the power lines and towers overhead, you are in the right place. Continue along the trail back into the forest.
Are you still with me? Take the path up to the top of the hill.
Have you made it to the wooden cross? This is where you will leave trail. The cross should be on your left and a little rounded rock platform on your right. Did you leave a pained rock at the cross' base? Face the cross so the round rock is behind you and beyond the cross, you see the forest.
Next, I want you to walk into the woods behind the cross. See the small tree with many trunks about 10 feet ahead? Walk to it and stand so that both it and the cross are behind you and you are facing the woods. To your right is a small pine. Look beneath the lowest branch. Congratulations! You found what you have spent your time looking for!
