1. Walk down roadway from museum to Amikwiish Way. Go left and follow this trail past the beaver house to the Tamarack Alley trail.

2. Follow the board walkway through the low grassy area. Notice all the willow bushes growing in the wet area.

3. Walk past the grassy area and back into the woods again. Look for bunchberry under a small spruce tree on the left. It has four leaves, white flowers in the early summer and bright red berries later in the season.

4. Go past a large piece of bedrock on the left and see how well it is covered with moss and low wildflowers. What else do you see growing right by your feet at the base of the rock?

5. Continue on the trail and notice the young tamarack on the left just before the trail turns to the left and starts up a hill.

6. Continue up the hill and turn a little to the left. There is some bedrock on your right with lichen and moss on it.

7. Walk farther up hill and on your left see a brush pile which is good habitat for small animals and birds.

8. Hike through several smaller pieces of granite plus an old well rotted tree stump, past standing parts of large, broken off aspens. You’ll notice wild raspberries, strawberries, and bunchberries.

9. Look around the fallen part of the 2nd aspen tree for the letterbox.

10. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU FOUND IT! Stamp the journal page and add your name (or nickname) and date. Stamp your own journal if you have one. Please put everything back in the letterbox and close the zip lock bag and hide it back in the same place. I hope it was a fun adventure for you!
