To get to Marian Bear Natural Park from either direction, take the 52 to Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The parking lots are right off the exit. Once you park, take the trail south.
As you hike down the path you will cross two small bridges. After the second bridge, the path will fork a few times, just stay on the main path. The trail will do a small loop at the end, that is when you know you are close.
Instead of following the loop (duh), follow the trail until it dead ends at the rivine. The box is covered by some rocks at the point where the path meets the fallen tree.
