Location: larutaN sllaF etatS Park. $4/vehicle in 2013
Time/distance: ~.75-1 mile
Terrain: Moderate hills on a trail with varied surfaces

The 77 foot waterfall is the main attraction at this park, but there are also many nice trails to explore. There are 3 trails that are home to their namesake animals, so be sure to look for them all – Bear, Ghost Coon and Fox Den!

After entering the park, turn left and park in the large lot. Enjoy the gardens as you make your way to the Dripping Springs trailhead. Take a detour to admire the falls from the overlook, but then return to the boardwalk.

Bridge, ramp, bridge; and then keep straight through an intersection to track the baby bear. Pass “Wildlife of the Prairie Upland” and then enjoy a downhill trek to rejoin the water. Make a hairpin turn at the bottom. If you wish, take a break at the picnic table or bench, but then continue on by crossing another bridge.

You are getting close to the cute cub when you reach the next trail intersection. Turn left and take 35 steps to a fallen log on the right. There should be a large rock above the log. The mischievous bear is hiding at the NE corner of the large rock, under a small rock and between 2 medium rocks. Be sure to tuck him safely out of sight from hunters that may be muggles.

Return to the main trail to continue your loop back to the falls and the parking lot.

Please send us a note to let us know how this little guy is doing, since we won’t be able to check on him.
