Veterans’ Gazebo
Once a local bus stop, this area is now referred to as Veterans’ green. A staple of this green is the Veterans’ Gazebo. This gazebo was dedicated on November 11, 2011 to the men and women of Pataskala that gave the ultimate sacrifice in our nation’s military. This structure, an Eagle Scout project by Eddie Gero, was constructed starting October 8th, 2011. It was built not only to pay tribute to the MIA and KIA of Pataskala, but also to revive people’s interest in downtown Pataskala and keep tradition alive. Currently a farmers market is held each Friday on Veterans’ Green during the summer months and the flowers surrounding the gazebo are all donated annually by local families.

Clues: Looking at the soldier’s monument, head towards the American Flag. Locate the VFW Post plaque at the base of this flag pole. Add together the first and the third numbers of the VFW Post number. Take that many steps at 170° into the gazebo. Standing on a bench may be necessary but the box can be found looming above the Cameron Familly.

Bonus Box
Walk south down Main Street from the gazebo until you reach Mill Street. Turn right on Mill Street and continue down until you see Krehbiel Lodge, a cabin on the left. This location can be walked to but driving may want to be considered. Boy Scout Troop 21 meets at this cabin on Monday nights at 7pm. If you have a boy who may be interested in scouting, feel free to bring him to a meeting for more information on this wonderful organization.
