Girl Scout Troop 74679’s Letterbox Adventure

Park at Richardson Center, 1485 Oakley Park, Commerce Township, Michigan.

Follow the sign for Nature Trail on the east end of the lot into the woods. Upon entering the woods, you will come to a fork in the road. If Juliette Low is the founder of Girl Scouts, proceed left. If not, proceed right.

Walk for a while until you arrive at the next fork in the road. Girl Scout cookies! Yum! Which is the best selling Girl Scout cookie? For Do-Si-Dos, go right. For Thin Mints, go left.

Continue on the path for a bit until you arrive at another fork in the road. Which color is the “Junior” Girl Scout vest? If it is green, continue left. If it is brown, continue to the right.

Walk a short ways to yet another fork in the road, split by a tree. What is the birthplace of Girl Scouts? If it is Detroit, Michigan, then go right. If it is Savannah, Georgia, then go left.

You will find a fallen tree on the path! Keep walking!

Continue for a while more until you find a tree “bridging” over the path and resting on its own stump. From this place, determine what Juliette Low’s nickname was. If it was Tulip, then take 5 steps forward. If it was Daisy, then take 23 steps. If it was Rose, then take 102 steps.

Veer to the right and continue walking until you reach the fallen log that completely crosses the path. If the Girl Scout Motto is “Be Prepared,” then turn yourself to the left. If it is “Buy Our Cookies!,” then turn yourself to the right.

How many fingers does a Girl Scout hold up to make the Girl Scout Sign? If 1, then take 57 steps. If 2, then take 78 steps. If 3, then take 22 steps.

Look under the base of the fallen tree. Your Girl Scout knowledge has paid off!

Please remember to repack and hide well! These trails are used often!

Love, Brownie Girl Scout Troop 74679
