Travelling along State Road 17, South of Plymouth and North of State Road 8, locate Trail of Death Historical Marker signs. Follow the signs, taking 12th Road East. Travel East on 12th Rd. - a lovely country drive, with lots of twists & turns - about 2 miles. The "monument" is on the South side, if you reach Pear/Peach Rd., you've gone too far. BUT! this intersection is a good place to turn around after stamping - note the Barn Quilt on the North side of the road.
Not much of a monument, really, but it tells the tale of the footprints made by the Native Americans - Pottawatomie - in this area:

This site commemorates the first church in Marshall County, erected in 1827 by Father Badin. He was apparently quite active all around Northern Indiana and SW Michigan.
In 1838, the Indians were moved Westward, leaving their footprints behind.
As you're reading the plaque, look to your left at the corner of the fence. Tucked underneath the fence, just within reach, you can make your stamp at this Historical Site.
