This letterbox is part of the GO and Dig It Up! program. It will be available from June 1, 2013 - August 18, 2013. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

GO and Dig It Up! uses "garden plots" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Gardener's Journal, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at the Agricultural & Industrial Musem (York City). You must answer all questions correctly & bring the completed answers to the front desk to receive the rubbing. GO York level of difficulty = Easy.

- When you arrive, check-in at the front desk.
- Starting from the front desk, turn around and walk back the way you came. Rather than going back outside, make a right at the double glass doors.
- Make a left and find the Pfaltzgraff area. What was Mr. Pfaltzgraff’s first name? _________
- Return to the double doors and stand on the balcony overlooking farm machinery below.
- How many plows do you see hanging on the wall? _____
- Now go downstairs. Take some time to admire the old time farm equipment.
- Find the steam engine and thresher. After the Industrial Revolution, how many hours did it take to produce 100 bushels of wheat? ________
- Next you will want to find the rototillers. What year did Frazier Rototiller Inc. move to York? ______
- Continue to browse around looking for the potato slicer. What is a potato slicer used for? _______
- What year did Martins purchase a slicer? _______
- Do you see the potato grader? How was this machine powered? ________
- A potato planter should be in this area as well. What were the two of the 4 functions of a potato planter? 1.____________________________ 2.____________________________
- Spend some time enjoying the other areas of the museum.
- Do not forget to show your answers at the front desk so you can receive your rubbing!
