This letterbox is part of the GO and Dig It Up! program. It will be available from June 1, 2013 - August 18, 2013. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
GO and Dig It Up! uses "garden plots" â wooden posts with engraved plates on them â instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Gardener's Journal, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Spring Valley County Park and may be accessed from the Folklife parking area. GO York level of difficulty = Hard
- Start at the edge of the parking lot at the marker for trail #4A.
- Following trail #4A, walk up the hill and through an old stone wall to the first intersection.
- Turn right, continuing to follow trail #4A up the hill.
- At the next intersection, turn right onto trail #4D.
- Continue on trail #4D until the next âTâ intersection.
- Turn right and follow trail 4C to the gravel road.
- Look both ways before crossing the gravel road onto trail #5C. Continue on trail #5C until the next intersection.
- Turn right onto trail #5B and continue on this trail until you locate the post at the bottom of the hill.
- To return to the parking area, continue on trail #5B to the parking area.
