This letterbox is part of the GO and Dig It Up! program. It will be available from June 1, 2013 - August 18, 2013. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
GO and Dig It Up! uses "garden plots" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Gardener's Journal, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Spoutwood Farm Center. GO York level of difficulty = Easy
- Drive up the driveway until you come to an intersection. Make a right and park in front of the tan building.
- Leaving the parking area, walk over to the intersection facing the sign with the different location arrows.
- Turn around and walk along the driveway. You will be heading back toward the main road.
- Locate the fence on your left. When you arrive at an opening in it, turn left and walk through.
- Turn left again and walk along the inside of the fence. You should come to a second opening in the fence. Make a left and walk toward the bridge.
- Cross the bridge and turn right. Continue to walk straight; this should bring you to another bridge.
- Again, cross the second bridge and continue walking on the path. The creek should be on your right.
- Walk toward the straw building slightly to your left. Make sure to take a good look at the building. Can you believe it is made of straw?
- Turn left and start counting the tall, green, metal post on the fence. Walk on the outside of the fence until you come to the 9th post. The post you seek will be nearby.
- Return back to the parking area the way you came.
