This letterbox is part of the GO and Dig It Up! program. It will be available from June 1, 2013 - August 18, 2013. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
GO and Dig It Up! uses "garden plots" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Gardener's Journal, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Farquhar Park (York City). GO York level of difficulty = Easy
- Begin at the cone shaped pavilion, on the side facing the tennis courts.
- Walk on the path toward North Penn Street.
- Proceed down the steps and make an immediate right following the path. North Penn Street will be on left.
- At the next intersection, turn left keeping the tennis courts on your right.
- Continue to follow the path around the tennis courts until you reach a “sit-up” platform. Face the tennis courts and see how many sit-ups you can do.
- Locate four trees in a diagonal line along a gentle sloping hill. The post will be near the 4th tree (the furthest from the “sit-up” platform.)
- Return to the parking area the way you came.
