This letterbox is part of the GO and Dig It Up! program. It will be available from June 1, 2013 - August 18, 2013. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
GO and Dig It Up! uses "garden plots" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into the program Gardener's Journal, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at P. Joseph Raab County Park. GO York level of difficulty = Hard
- Start from the parking area by locating the yellow gate. Trail #1 starts at the gate.
- Follow trail #1 along the field and then through the patch of woods.
- Continue on trail #1 along the field. The woods should be on your left and a field on your right.
- Look for a trail intersection (at the corner of the field). Trail 1 goes left or turns right. Turn right continuing along the field.
- Look for trail #2 on your left. Once you find it, turn onto it and enter the woods.
- Continue on trail #2 to the first intersection and turn right.
- Search an old mining roadway on your right. The post will be located nearby.
- To return to the parking area, follow the directions in reverse.
