This is a letterbox, not a geocache so please do not take the stamps and leave no trinkets.
Bring your own ink.
Driving directions: Take I-25 south from Socorro about thirty miles and take exit 124 where the brown information sign directs. Fort Craig Road is well maintained gravel road so just slow down and take it easy for the five miles to the historic site.
On Feb. 20, 1862, Capt. James "Paddy" Graydon and his company of scouts led two mules loaded with howitzer shells within 150 yards of a Confederate camp in New Mexico Territory. The men lit fuses and pointed the faithful animals toward the Confederates.
"Unfortunately, the animals proved to be too faithful. As the soldiers withdrew, they noticed quickly and with much consternation that the mules, instead of cooperating in the destruction of the enemy force, were following them.
"The withdrawal became precipitous as Graydon and his men scrambled to outdistance their faithful followers, who shortly began to explode."
Clues: Start at the information kiosk at the northeast end of the parking lot. Sign-in and pick up a map. In the super spor on the ne end, WRn sWRps noTWA of the WAETd EnfosWgn.

So that people don't get suspicious, please take away from the hiding spot to stamp in--maybe to that bench up the trail. Rehide in the exact location where you found it and please completely cover the plastic so it can't be seen. Be careful not to break the plastic with the rocks.
Happy hunting.
