Ives 20 Main Street, Potsdam, NY

Historic Water Street

Begin by parking on Main, across from the entertainment that used to use reel to reel but is now all digital.

Walk toward the river's edge and find the concrete launch and Fuller's sign.

Take 31 paces from the sign to band stand center.

Now that you have a roof over your head look toward downtown to the red dot in the sky.

Historical note: From center stage to the right end of the bridge is the ghost street, Water St, which no longer exists except in the picture as viewed from the island. I believe the street was lost to fire. Once filled with a variety of businesses.

See bottom two pictures on page in link. http://www.potsdampublicmuseum.org/pages/99/10/past-and-present-images

Directly under the dot as view from center stage are green sentinels guarding the buzzing green box with the angry star face.

The box can be found within the forked trunks of the soft green rightmost guard 43 paces from the center of the band stand.

The park is a busy place, pick a quiet time to search.
