Moderate to difficult. 4 mile hike round trip, 1,000 feet in elevation gain.

Directions: Drive on Marsh Street as if to get on the 101 South and right before merging turn right onto Fernandez Lane. Park in the small parking lot. (You could also just park at Madonna Inn and walk along the bike path.)

Clues: This box was placed to celebrate my 20th birthday with my girlfriend. Begin hiking on the trail entitled with my favorite type of birthday cake. When faced with a choice of divergence stay to the left to avoid getting run over by mountain bikes. If the weather is nice, as it should be in SLO, take notice of the concrete bench that is a dedication to the Charles A and Mary R Maino Open Space. As you COntinue up the hill there will be a web of trails, but continue on the beaten path and stay left, circumventing the base of the mountain in a clockwise direction. Notice the wooden bridge on your right and the copious amounts of poison oak throughout the wooded areas. DO NOT cross this bridge as there is a poisonous troll waiting to attack trespassers. COntinue on the trail and duck under the metal gate. Enjoy the view of Laguna Lake on the left. Whenever faced with a decision always keep your head up and take the high road, even if this means making your way through Fe (think chemistry) fences. Continue up the road to the top. Take a moment to stop at a pull off to your right and admire the lake and the surrounding area. When you are ready to continue look towards the summit and take neither the left or right trail, but instead climb the steep rocks between the two trails. You should be aiming to get above and to the right of the large boulder on the hillside. Upon reaching the top you will see a large rock in the ground. Stand on this and put your back to Bishops Peak. In front and to the left is a lichen covered tree. To the left of this tree and a coffin of branches within a three foot radius awaits Wild Wild West. Enjoy the view and please re-hide better than you found it.

Additional info: One member of Quad-C, originating out of Colorado, is now in cahoots with another Colorado native making Colorado Mustangs. One of the well-known activities for college students is line dancing, but only with the right kind of boots.
