4/25/13 This box has been retired as of today.

The newest round of the box of the month is under way...

It is still the same idea- a new box every month for the year, from a different carver around the United States. The box will be in place from ~ the 1st through the ~25th each month-depending on weather, the mail etc. The final box (my own) will be permanently placed at the final location.

This year I am doing it a little differently. You will not be going to the same location each month for the new box, but rather the same trail and starting from different locations. The trail will be the Airline Trail. It runs through Lebanon and has many road crossings. Each month I will start you from a new crossing and head to a different spot on the trail.

So, for the third letterbox in this series, make your way to the Airline Trail crossing on Village Hill Road in Lebanon. Park off of the road and head NORTH on the trail.

Go around the gate and walk along.

It is a pretty walk and if you have done your homework you will have an older "something else" to find along the way.

Come to a wooden bridge and cross.

From the far side, count 20 steps and stop.

Look left and see a rather large rock with a short stump behind it.

Look behind the rock, move a smaller rock at its base and you will find the beautiful Black-Billed Magpie letterbox by CarrierPigeon of GA.

Please be sure to hide the box well when you are done. It has many more stops to make before it gets home and back to its owner.

Thanks,
Flutterby
