Just in time (barely) for Easter, here's an egg hunt for you. They are planted on the Greenway trail. Go to the Lock 12 Historical Park at 487 N. Brooksvale Rd. (Rt. 42) in Cheshire and park in the lot. Today was a beautiful Saturday (finally!) so there were lots of people and cars.

From the parking lot, follow the path, cross Rt 42 and head down the path. Just past the 2 benches you will see a big grey rock on the left, left of it is a smaller one and then smaller still. Look behind and under the birch sticks to start your Egg Hunt. Hide well when done

Keep going down the path. There are pricker bushes everywhere which we tried to avoid but who knows what will happen with warmer weather. It's also very swampy which we also tried to avoid.
Pass the fiber optics stick, a blue bench, 1.6 mi sign, then look for a big tree bridge on the left. There is a small piece of the tree near and parallel to the path. There is an Eggsellent spot at the left end for your first egg. Again, please make sure it's well covered when you're done.

Now, keep walking till you see the rock on the left with the sign in honor of Herbert J. Cran Jr. Take the trail in to the area by the big tree (I just love these big trees!) and the benches. Find where a slice of tree is making a bridge. There's a big flattish rock sticking up on the right side. To the left and under a small rock there's an Eggsiting find for you.

Go back to the path and keep going the way you were. Over the bridge, past the green bench you will see the start of a stone wall on the left. At the second tree on the path side of the wall, look between it and the wall for an Eggstraodinary find.

Keep walking to Higgins Rd. Why did the chicken cross the road? To lay her last egg. So head over there and stop at the bench. Between there and the "Stop Ahead" sign (facing the other way), there is a fallen branch. Under it on the left side before you get to the still standing tree is the reason for all this Eggsercise.

If you want more - exercise that is - keep going but there's no more eggs. So, if you're done, head back the way you came.
