My maiden name is Frye. Several generations ago, about the time of the Revolutionary War, my ancestors spelled it Fry, the English spelling. In doing genealogical research we found that the initial ancestor who immigrated to the colonies in the mid-1600s spelled it Frey. This box is planted as close, as safely possible, to Fry Canyon along 89. No family connection, just a shared name.
From I-17, exit 337 to AZ 89A. Turn South, travel 6.5 mi. crossing Fry Canyon, continue on past mm 392. In 0.4mi turn left onto a dirt road, cross the cattle guard and park.
Clues:
Walk past the access control gate, down the road to the large brown sign on the left. From that sign walk 40 steps until you are by a group of yucca plants, about 6 feet off the left side of the road.
Standing at the left edge of the yuccas go 16 steps at 268 degrees to a tall Ponderosa tree. Look left to the multi-trucked Juniper tree. At its NE base, under pine needles and a flat rock is the Letterbox.
Please be sure the contents are double-ziplocked when you put them back (i.e. Stamp and log book in separate bags, with both bags in the larger ziploc bag, and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide well behind the rock and pine needles covering so it cannot be seen from any direction.
I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or it needs attention or is missing at: pmount@cox.net
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/
