Irvine Regional Park: Girl Scout Cadette Trail

Tustin Troop 1847 placed these boxes while earning a letterboxing badge. Each box and stamp was created and placed by 2-4 scouts. We had a great time learning about letterboxing. We hope you enjoy the search.

1. Immediate left on first road past where you pay to enter
2. Drive past Lot 1
3. Park in Lot 2, south end
4. Walk across road
5. Walk across the grass
6. Go through the row of trees
7. Walk across the grass toward Willow Trail
8. Turn left on first wide, gravel trail that you reach (before Willow Trail)

Box 1: Lil’ Critters
1. Proceed on trail
2. Stop at the yellow gas cap at ground level on the left side
3. Look at the spindly tree on the right
4. The box is hidden on the branches at the back of the tree

Box 2: Hello Kitty
1. Start at the yellow gas pipe
2. Continue walking along the trail past the water valve on the ground
3. Turn right onto Egret trail
4. Stop at the sycamore tree on the left
5. The letterbox is at the base of the tree

Box 3: The Cosmic Box
1. Continue going down the path and up the hill
2. Continue past the large rock “ditch” on the right
3. Notice the houses on the hill to your left
4. Notice the last large tan house on the hill
5. When you reach the first big Eucalyptus tree that seems to be beneath the last large tan house on the hill look in the “V” of the tree for the letterbox

Box 4: The K box
1. Continue up the road
2. You will see a narrow trail on the left that leads up (it leads up to an information kiosk that you cannot see from the road)
3. Take the narrow trail up to the information kiosk. The information kiosk is at the Santiago Creek trail head.
4. The letterbox is hidden within the information kiosk

Box 5: Circus box
1. Start at the information kiosk
2. Continue on Santiago Creek Trail towards Irvine Park (head East)
3. On the right notice a concrete sewage drain with 2 pipes sticking up out of it
4. Directly across from the 2 pipes, across the trail, there is a large rock.
5. You will find the letterbox behind the rock.
Continue on Santiago Creek Trail, turn left as the trail turns, and you will complete this big loop and end back where you started.
