Enjoy a day at the town park:) Pull into the entrance of the park and continue past the volleyball courts(on your right) , on your left you will see a "Hiking Trail" sign. Don't worry, there is ample parking.

You will find 3 boxes on this short walk, "The Ladybug", "Cup O Joe", and "The Lost Little Mermaid". The Lost Mermaid stares sadly at the lake that is visible to her only during the winter months.

To box number one---------Enter the trail and continue until you see a big dead tree on your left, leaning on the old stone wall. How good is your balance? Walk up the downed one and discover the top is hollowed out, reach inside...and...yes, that's it!

To box number two---------Continue down the trail until the Senior Center is on your right. On your left will be 4 big sisters (tree with 4 trunks), one of the sisters is dying. Stand on the right side of the sisters, next to the dying sister. Walk 13 paces straight into the woods. In front of you is a dead tree with its body lying on the ground next to it. Check in the body nearest to the base of the dead tree and there is box #2. Look closely because it is rather small.

To box number three-------Continue further down the trail, it will begin to zigzag, you will begin to walk downhill. Notice a giant tree that has tipped over with its roots still attached. Look to your left and see some large boulders. Walk about 14 paces into the woods towards the boulders. Near one of the boulders is a medium sized tree. That rock and tree has created a little shelf (look on the underside of the rock)which houses the "Lost Little Mermaid". Make sure to hide her well with leaves after.

..There has been word that a hitch hiker has been sighted on this trail as well, keep your eyes peeled......

Enjoy, my family and I love this place, great letterbox for little ones:)
