Planted by Kelsung for The End Of The World

This series is located around the World War II artillery bunker at the top of the hill. They can be done alone, or can be done in the midst of doing the "...And I Feel Fine" series. From the base camp, head west up the paved trail as it curves north up the hill. You can find the first two boxes of the other series before you reach the bunker.

Conquest

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

As you near the top of the hill, you'll see the cement tunnel passing through the hill, but don't go in just yet. Continue to the first old electrical pole and take a bearing of 270 degrees, where you should see a metal sign half-covered by the bushes a short distance away. Walk to the sign and turn back to face the pole. You'll see a rock at the base of a bush a few steps ahead to the right. (Please use silver ink.)

War

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Retired as of 03/25/23

Now double-back and pass through the short tunnel through the hill, observing the rusted old doors now welded shut. Once on the other side, continue following the trail to the right past another large pair of doors and on to a second tunnel through the hill. Before going back through, continue a bit further to the little shack. Walk around the left side and look for a cylindrical chunk of concrete at the rear corner. (Please use red ink.)

Famine

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Retired as of 3/25/23

Now pass through the second tunnel and look left for a dirt trail that continues along the hillside, eventually curving left and a little uphill. When you reach another old electrical pole, take a bearing of 135 degrees from the short one and walk a few steps to a large rock at the base of a bush. You may wish to continue up the dirt trail to the two benches for a break as you stamp in. (Please use black ink.)

Death

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

From the benches, take the other dirt trail going up the ridge over the bunker. Take it all the way back west and enjoy the view out to Catalina Island from this highest point of the park. When you are back above the first tunnel, it will descend and curve sharply to the left, but continue straight off the trail a bit, towards a low palm that sits across the cement drain. When you reach the drain by the palm, look to your right for a rock at the base of the large bush. (Please use pale green ink.)

Double-back to the dirt trail and follow it as it quickly descends back to the paved trail. Return down the paved trail, following the clues for the final two boxes of the "...And I Feel Fine" series before reaching the bottom.
