Hours: 9 AM to dusk
Directions: On west side of Route 9G in Rhinebeck just north of Slate Quarry Road (County Route 19) and south of Route 308.
No ink pad in box. Bring your own.

Novice version:

1. From the parking lot, face the top of the hill where the large kiosk is.


2. Follow the mowed path in front of you with the pond to your right.


3. Pass the double birdhouses and go through a hedge to come to a sign about Burger Hill Conservation.


4. Work your way to the summit of the hill, following one of the paths.


5. Take in the view and notice the mountain names and drawings on the rock memorials.


6. Face the Black Head Mountains.


7. Go to the stone bench directly below you.


8. Follow the path the bench is on, which curves in a u-turn back toward the bottom of the hill.


9. At the bottom of the u-turn, turn left to see an opening in the tree line.


10. Walk through the opening, facing toward the Indian Head Mountains.


11. Turn right and take 7 paces along the rock wall.


12. Face back toward the summit of Burger Hill, looking at the tree line.


13. Inside some rocks that form a cave is the box.

Riddle Version:

1. From the kiosk, follow the path with the pond on the right.


2. You will soon come to a place where bluebirds nest.


3. After you past their homes, take a visit to the signs about Burger Hill Conservation.


4. Ascend to the top of the hill. You think you won’t make it, but yes, you will.


5. Locate yourself behind the rocks of fame and notice the mountain names.


6. Fall from Black Head Mountain to a place of rest.


7. Walk through a gap and turn back to rocks that are in a stack.


8. To you left 7 steps, find the box encased in some rocks.

After finding the box, please put it back where you found it.
