Jack Kerouac was a Lowell native. He was a writer, poet and artist.
Some consider him the father of the Beat Movement. His most famous
book is On the Road which describes his adventures on some of the many
spontaneous road trips taken by Kerouac and his friends. It is said that Kerouac also
influenced musicians such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Morrissey, Simon
& Garfunkel, Jim Morrison and more!

Park at the main entrance located at the end of Trotting Park Road in Lowell.

This letterbox is located on the paved road between marker numbers L3
and L10 (print out a map or look at the one at the trail head). Find
the large four-trunked birch tree on the EAST side of the road. Jack
is resting under the large rock at the base of this tree.

This box has been placed as part of the Grateful Letterbox series placed around the country by various members of the Google group, The Grateful Letterboxers. All who love letterboxing are welcome to join this fun newsgroup. Check it out:
