There is an interesting story behind this letterbox. It was created and hidden in January of 2008. The clues were not posted until November 22,2012. Althought the clues had not been posted, I went to check this letterbox on Thanksgiving 2012. It was still there. I was shocked to find that not only had someone actually found the letterbox and signed the book, but had also added an item. What a wonderful surprise!

Clues:
Find the Beavers Lodge Nature Trail at Beavers Bend. If you park at the Trailhead parking lot, you will need to wade across the river to get to the west side of the river as the foot bridge has since washed out. Or you can park next to the bridge on SH 259 about 50 yards south of the Trailhead. From there you will see a trail on the west side of the river that will intersect with the main trail where the foot bridge washed out.

Walk about 12 minutes at a moderate pase down the trail until you come to the "Y" intersection. While walking, watch for a small wooden bridge on your left that will have side rails. Continue walking. Watch for a marker post with a "12" on it. This will be on the right side of the trail. From the post, take about 10 steps down the trail. Here the trail splits. Take the trail that goes to the left. It goes around the left side of a large pine tree and begins an uphill climb. Climb the hill for a couple of minutes looking for a large layered rock on the right side of the trail that is embeded in the ground point up to the sky. The trail continues around and behind this rock. Stop at this rock and have a seat. While looking down at the river, look to your right and find the two cedar trees. One has a hole at the base. In that hole you will find the letterbox. Enjoy the view! Hope you enjoyed the hike.
