It always seemed that I couldn't ride the trails without something breaking, popping, snapping, or deflating. This is in honor of those times. . .
*On the north end of town, where the trails pass by the big cats' park, there lies a path that goes 'round the shores of Calumet Lake.
*Find the Michigan DNRE sign and begin your hike.
*There's a bench! You may watch the ducks, but don't linger for too long, you're not even halfway there!
*The sound of a brook leads you to a bridge. If you look ahead you will see some old, gnarled trees. Count ten, and keep going.
*Another nice view of the lake from a bench just before a group of boundary rocks cross the path. Here there is a fork in the road, and the correct way is not always the right one.
*Go ahead for another 35 paces from the boundary rocks, looking for a twin-trunked birch tree with several big rocks near its base. Find your quarry here, then rehide well when you're finished!
