This is a great location for any type of outdoor adventure. These trails are used by hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers. This park is nestled between the Navesink and the Shrewsbury Rivers. Close By, are the Twin Lights Light House and Sandy Hook National Park.
Enter Hartshorne Woods Park at the Buttermilk Valley location off of Navesink Ave. Enter the trail head by the handicapped parking spot. Pick up a trail map and head up hill on Laurel Ridge Trail. After about a 5 min walk you will notice an old split rail fence on the right. Take the old path behind the fence. Starting at the stump, walk up hill about 20 steps. Turn right and go about 15 steps. Behind the large tree at the base buried beneath leaves and branches you will find your buried treasure. Please hide well under sticks and leaves.
