The Peg House is located 2 miles north of Leggett on Hwy 101 across the highway from Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area. This cozy and historic structure is held together in the Danish tradition entirely with wooden pegs. It's a popular rest stop on the journey through the redwoods and I hear tell there's good food to be had.

Out front is owner Gary Ballard's version of the Blues Brothers' Bluesmobile. In 2005, a tow truck driver spotted this abandoned Dodge Diplomat lounging in a blackberry patch near Myers Flat. He told Gary about the find and Gary had it brought and parked out front after his nephew gave it a new paint job. This particular version is an 81, though Gary relates that the original was a 74. However Gary says the design didn't change much in the intervening years.. The Blues Brothers in the front seat have recently suffered abuse at the hands of vandals.

To find the Bluesmobile letterbox, simply look behind the NE tire.
The Bluesmobile has been hauled away. It got too funky.
