Blackhawk Lake is a county recreational area and requires a fee for a day pass.

We placed this box during a family fall camping trip on a really gorgeous day. The fall colors are just starting to show.

Park in the Camper Boat Mooring lot.

Find the 'no vehicles' sign and take the left path which follows along the shoreline.

Cross 2 wooden bridges. Keep your eyes peeled for turkeys!

Pass a large fallen tree on your lefthand side. The tree is partially submerged in the lake and is great for climbing if you are adventurous.

Continue on the path and go down a short hill. As the trail begins to ascend again, take a right and enter a tunnel of trees.

In the autumn, the ground is a bed of needles. Go ALL the way through to the end of the tunnel.

When you reach a T, take the path to the left and walk 26 paces.

Look to your left at a fallen tree. The Autumnal Equinox lies underneath the trunk on the side away from the trail.
