A walk through his unique natural area loops through a bog, on boardwalks. The variety of plants is astounding. Nature trail guides are available near the trailhead. Be aware that in spring, parts of the boardwalk may be underwater.
Road directions: From Rte 89, take exit 12. Go 1.5 miles northeast on Newport Rd, toward New London.
Philbrick-Cricenti Bog is on the right. There is parking for several cars in a roadside pull-off at the trailhead. The trailhead is across Newport Rd. from Spruce Lane. If you get to the strip mall on the right, you've gone about a quarter mile too far.
