Teatown Lake Reservation is located at 1600 Spring Valley Road in Ossining. It is a private, nonprofit nature preserve and education center that encompasses 875 acres, containing 3 lakes and over 15 miles of hiking trails over diverse terrain and habitats, including streams, hardwood swamps, mixed forests, meadows, hemlock forests, laurel groves and a scenic gorge.

Your journey begins on the red trail to Hidden Valley. Follow the driveway behind the nature center, past the bunnies so cute and fuzzy. When you reach a red barn, you will see a red trail marker. Follow the red trail down the hill and along the road. But beware as you cross the racers lane. Continue along the trail, past the maple grove on your left and into a field. Walk straight through the intersection and stop for a snack. Continue your stroll up the path, past the bird boxes. As you enter the rock entrance into a magical evergreen forest, turn right and follow the rock wall to the end. Before you will be a large rock formation. Approach the shark(or whale)head but don’t get bitten. Climb around and up the rock formation to a tree. Follow its roots into the cavern where your treasure lies. After stamping, please replace it carefully and enjoy your walk back.
