THE REDEMPTION LETTERBOX
PLACED BY: The Northerner
PLACED: August 4, 2012
LOCATION: Tohickon Valley Park, Point Pleasant, PA
LAST CHECKED: January 13, 2013

INTRODUCTION/DIRECTIONS:
It has taken me years of searching to find the appropriate spot for this box, and though this spot isn’t perfect, it met enough of the criteria for me to plant it. Expect to do some bushwhacking for this box. It will not be exactly as you envision it, as others have grown around it the past few decades (and it may have even shrunk a little, but that’s probably just your imagination) :o). You will be able to find it though if you keep the promise—it is the only one of its kind that is of any size along what you must follow. Even the rock is there! One final word of advice: You know those boxes that don’t make any sense until you get to the location and then it all seems to unravel before your eyes? This isn’t one of them! If, after reading these clues, you are not exactly sure what you must do to find the box, it won’t become any clearer out in the woods. You have some more puzzles to solve first. Just thought I’d save you a trip. :o)

This box is planted in Tohickon Valley Park, along Cafferty Road in Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania. From the junction of Route 32, which travels along the west shore of the Delaware River for a good ways in Bucks county, and Cafferty Road in the main part of the tiny river town of Point Pleasant, head up Cafferty Road 1.1 miles to Tohickon Valley Park which will be on your left. Park in the parking area for the pool.

After finding the box either return the way you came or continue along the yellow trail to the High Rock overlooks which offer some nice (though fenced off) views of Tohickon Creek far below—a little under 4 miles round trip.

CLUES:
IT’S LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF A ROBERT FROST POEM, JUST KEEP THE PROMISE. FROM THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE PARKING AREA HEAD NORTH ON A SMALL PARK ROAD PAST A STOP SIGN. AT THE LARGE POST OF A TRAIL SIGN TURN RIGHT (NORTH) ONTO A TRAIL CROSSING FIRST A SMALL WOODEN BRIDGE, A COUPLE OF STONE WALLS, AND A FIELD, BEFORE IT ENDS AT A GRAVEL ROAD. TURN LEFT (WEST) ON THE GRAVEL ROAD AND FOLLOW IT INTO AND THROUGH THE CAMPGROUND AREA. AT THE FAR END (BY SITE 21) TAKE THE YELLOW TRAIL, CONTINUING NORTHWEST. YOU HAVE MADE IT TO BUXTON. IT WON’T BE LONG UNTIL YOU COME TO WHAT YOU MUST FOLLOW—IT’S THE FIRST OF ITS KIND. JUST KEEP HEADING NORTH AND FOLLOW RED.
