This bridge is an amazing construction. A completely suspended bridge, it was one of four constructed, but the only one left standing. There is a nice picnic area on the other side for you to rest at.
Travel up 146 to the Old Kingfield Rd. Follow signs for the Wire Bridge. Once there park in front of the mounted plaque. It reads "Maine Historical Civil Engineering Landmark - Wire Bridge - Completed in 1866" Stand facing this plaque. Turn to 180 degrees. 3 large rocks straight ahead. Under the south side of the middle rock is your prize.
