Burr Oak Woods Habitat Trail Letterbox
Placed by a member of Girl Scout Troop 1148
Clues:
Burr Oak Woods (this letter box was placed on the same Burr Oak Woods Habitat Trail Letterbox - placed on 9/1/02. Since this box has not been found in a while - we placed another one along the way).
Burr Oak Woods Conversation Area is located in Blue Springs, Missouri. From Truman Road, go North on 7 Highway. After you cross Pink Hill Road, take the second right, on Park Road. Turn left at the first parking lot (the Habitat Trail). The entrance to the Habitat Trail is located at the South end of the parking lot. This trail is 1 ½ miles long.
1. Follow the Habitat Trail past the small pond until you reach the Glade, Missouri’s driest habitat. There you can read about “Only the Tough Can Survive” on a signpost.
2. From the signpost, walk approximately 200 paces.
3. At approximately 200 paces, you will notice a small trail on the left that breaks off from the main path. Walk on this path approximately 18 paces – which leads you to the ledge of a rock overlooking a dried creak bed.
4. Don’t look high – but rather low
Good Luck and happy LetterBoxing!!
