Charles Carleton Coffin was an American journalist, Civil War correspondent, author and politician. A descendant of Tristam Coffin who arrived in the American colonies from England in 1642, Charles Carlton Coffin was born in Boscawen, New Hampshire, on July 26, 1832.
The Story of Liberty, The Boys of '76, and Sweet Land of Liberty are just a few of the books that Charles C. Coffin wrote.
This letterbox is located at Richardson’s Farm, the birthplace of Charles C. Coffin in Boscawen, NH. The farm has an ice cream stand!
~Begin at the stone historical marker to the right of the parking area.
Follow the curving rocky wall,
Please be careful not to fall.
Gaze about,
Please do not pout.
Waltz toward the street,
Please pick up your big feet.
Polka under the maples with glee,
Please do not climb the wall of broken debris.
Now prance to the road of sand,
Please bring your entire miniscule band.
Canter 55 paces forward bound,
Please head toward the trickle without a sound.
Traveling toward the deck of dreams,
Please buy yourself a treat of creams.
Look under the porch on the right.
Please return the box out of sight.
