Take exit 105 from I5 to the port of Olympia. You should end up on Plum Street. Take Plum Street, and continue on when it turns into east bay drive. Just after the marina you should see a very windy and steep road called San Francisco Ave. Turn on to San Francisco Ave. If you’re a little hungry, stop by the San Francisco Street Bakery for great pastries and a good cup of coffee. When you reach the bakery, take a left on to Bethel Street and continue all the way down to the dead end just passed 26th Ave. On your right there should be an opening into the woods, just before the gravel turn-around. We will begin our journey here.
Hiking Ability: Intermediate, there’s only one hill, but its steep!
Time: 15-30 min roughly
Items Needed: Some clothes/shoes you can get dirty in, depending on the weather!
Clue:
Lets pretend that you’re invisible. You see two young men, Jimmy and Dennis looking at a newspaper and chatting about the front article.
“Have you heard anything about the attackings that have been happening in the woods lately?” Jimmy asks, staring at the newspaper.
“Yeah, it seems like theres been some pretty freaky stuff going on around here lately.” Dennis replies.
“Personally I think that the stories about the monsters are just a big load of manure. Do you want to go check the woods out with me to prove it for ourselves?” Says Jimmy.
“Yeah, sounds like great fun!” Dennis says enthusiastically. The two boys walk into the woods… Be sure to keep close, so that you don’t get lost!
Jimmy and Dennis start to follow the well established trail into the woods. What a windy trail it is! Once they pass the houses on each side, they start to get an eerie feeling. Shrugging it off, they move on. As they start to go again, you notice something move into the bushes off to the right.. What was it?! Was it the monster? Keep following Jimmy and Dennis to be sure you don’t get lost!
Eventually you come to a fork in the path. Look in front of you, is there a nice little view and a steep hill? Take in the scenery for a second, but make sure you catch Jimmy and Dennis heading off to the left path!
As you start to move again, you come up on a big hill sloping down to your right.. Watch out Dennis!!! Keep quiet while Dennis takes a big spill down the hill, or you’ll get caught! Hurry down the hill to see if Dennis is okay!
But wait… When you get down to the bottom if the hill, Dennis isn’t there! Take a look around, how far can an unconscious person go? Look around under the rock to find evidence! Just be sure you keep safe and watch your back on your journey home!
