This letterbox - or observation point, as we call them - is part of the 2012 GO and Search the Galaxy! program, and is available from June 1, 2012 - August 19, 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org. To participate in the full program, please pick up your free Star Guide (program guide) from any York County Library.

This letterbox is located in Samuel S. Lewis State Park. It is 0.40 miles in distance and is rated "hard" by GO York standards.

 To locate the starting point, follow the park road around the loop until you reach the 1st stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign and park in the small paved lot.
 Locate the seesaw and swing set, and walk toward them.
 At the edge of the pine trees, you will find a Hill Top Trail post.
 Walk through the pine trees to the next Hill Top Trail post.
 Follow the trail into the woods; the trail will turn to gravel.
 Stay on the gravel trail as it crests the hill and begins to slope down.
 You will find the observation point across from a large-based tree on the left edge of the trail.
 To return to the parking lot, turn around and walk straight toward Pavilion C in the distance.
 Make sure that you stop at the old mill stones on your way to Pavilion C.
 Once you have arrived at pavilion C, rest and enjoy the view. You may even want to bring a kite to fly.
 You should see your vehicle in the parking lot to your right. Head down the hill to head home.
