This letterbox - or observation point, as we call them - is part of the 2012 GO and Search the Galaxy! program, and is available from June 1, 2012 - August 19, 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org. To participate in the full program, please pick up your free Star Guide (program guide) from any York County Library.

This letterbox is located in Rocky Ridge County Park and may be accessed from the Hidden Laurel Parking Lot. It is 0.81 miles in distance and is rated "moderate" by GO York standards.

 Start at the bulletin board.
 Follow the stone path back toward the Brown Thrasher pavilion.
 The nature fun zone will be on your left. Stop and play for awhile if you want.
 Turn right between the Brown Thrasher pavilion and the volleyball court.
 Turn left past the Crow and Downy Woodpecker pavilions onto the fitness trail.
 You should now be walking on a gravel trail. This is still the fitness trail.
 Remain on the gravel trail until you reach a yellow pole. Carefully cross the road at this pole and continue on trail #4.
 You should walk down a hill and then up the other side.
 When you reach trail #6, turn right and walk down the hill until you come to the wood bridge.
 Cross the wood bridge and continue about fifty paces to locate the observation point on the left side of the trail. Nearby, a lone tree stands in the middle of the trail.
 To return your vehicle, continue down the trail another 100 yards and turn right onto trail #6. You will cross another bridge before trail #6 begins wandering uphill.
 Take notice of all the trees and branches that fell during the 2011 storms.
 At one point, the trail will enter a clearing. Stay on the trail that continues to the right.
 Trail #6 will take you to the main park road. Carefully cross on the crosswalk and follow the paved path a short distance to the parking lot.
