This letterbox - or observation point, as we call them - is part of the 2012 GO and Search the Galaxy! program, and is available from June 1, 2012 - August 19, 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org. To participate in the full program, please pick up your free Star Guide (program guide) from any York County Library.
This letterbox is located in Codorus State Park and can be accessed from the Marina Day Use Area. It is 0.46 miles in distance and is rated "moderate" by GO York standards.
NOTE: This walk crosses the disc golf course. Please be careful of flying discs and always allow players to use the course.
Begin your walk at the stone monument on top of the hill.
Locate the number 17 disc golf basket nearby and walk to it.
Continue toward the tree that stands alone near the edge of the park road.
Carefully cross the park road and walk toward the stop signs on your right. It should feel like you are walking the wrong way.
At the stop sign with the red bird on it, use the arrow to point you toward the next clue.
Walk to the brown post with the blue dot and black box. Continue past this post to the round concrete ash collector.
While walking toward the tree line, look for a tree on your right with a yellow bird (goose silhouette) on it.
Walk past the tree with the yellow bird on it and look for the observation point near a bent tree on your left.
