GO and Search the Galaxy! - Mercury LbNA #61819 (ARCHIVED)

This letterbox - or observation point, as we call them - is part of the 2012 GO and Search the Galaxy! program, and is available from June 1, 2012 - August 19, 2012. This letterbox is located in Allen Park (York City). It is 0.31 miles in distance and is rated "easy" by GO York standards.

 Start near the sign with the YMCA symbol on it.
 Turn left and carefully cross the roadway on the crosswalk.
 Locate the dedication plaque nearby and note on what July date the park was dedicated. ____
 Follow the cement path toward the play areas. How many yellow arches, including those that hold up the swings, do you count in both play areas? _____
 Continue on the path as it curves to the left and runs alongside the road.
 At the stop sign, turn left and stay on the sidewalk until you reach the location where you crossed the road earlier. Turn right here and carefully cross the road again.
 Pass by the sign on your left and continue until you reach the gravel path on the left.
 Follow this path until you find a sign with a phone number on it. Turn and walk to this sign.
 When standing at this sign, turn to your left and count green vertical fence posts until you reach # ____. (Date park was dedicated - # of yellow arches in both play areas)
 Return to your vehicle by retracing your steps to the parking area.
