This letterbox - or observation point, as we call them - is part of the 2012 GO and Search the Galaxy! program, and is available from June 1, 2012 - August 19, 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org. To participate in the full program, please pick up your free Star Guide (program guide) from any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Codorus State Park and can be accessed from the Marina Day Use Area. It is 0.52 miles in distance and is rated "moderate" by GO York standards.

 Begin your walk at the stone monument on top of the hill. Take note of the creatures for which the local hills were named.
 Follow the blacktop path down the hill and along the edge of the parking area. Stop at the sign that gives information about those winged creatures.
 Continue along the path toward 2 disc golf baskets.
 Locate a stand of 4 trees across the park road and up a small hill. Carefully cross the road toward these trees.
 Upon reaching them, walk along the top of the hill with the farm field on your right and the road on your left.
 Continue along the edge of the field as it curves right and eventually goes meanders downhill.
 Locate the wooden post with red marks on it. The observation point will be located across the trail.
 To return to the parking area, continue past the post until you reach an intersection with another trail. Turn right at this intersection and proceed uphill.
 When you reach the park road, turn right and head back toward your vehicle.
